Taiwanese food is simple both in preparation and appearance. No sprigs of parsley. No flowers placed on the dish to add color. It’s good food for hungry a belly.
It’s this simple philosophy that Ji Shang Traditional Taiwanese Food uses in the preparation of their menu.
Ji Shiang Traditional Taiwanese Food opened its doors in February 2010 and has quickly become one of Hualien’s best locations for traditional Taiwanese and Hakka cuisine. Conveniently located on Jong Yang Road. Ji Shiang is accessible to both Hualien residents and those passing through on their ways north or south.
The menu is varied, with all sorts of choices for those looking for Taiwanese treats such as Zongzhe and Four God Soup. Unlike so many other Zongzhe shops, Ji Shiang provides fresh, sticky product that is not at all dry. The zesty dipping sauce added to the experience. The Four God Soup is a savory broth filled with lightly spiced barley. It is a perfect companion to the Zongzhe and adds balance to the meal. Ji Shiang also serves an assortment for flavored Mantou bread, including taro and ginger.
Vegetarians, fear not! Ji Shiang is well equipped to meet your needs as well. All items on the menu can be ordered without meat. If it’s a taste of traditional Taiwanese you are looking for during your trip down the East Coast, look no further than Ji Shiang Traditional Taiwanese Food for all your culinary needs.
It is located at 448 Jong Yang Rd., Sec. 3, Hualien.
