From the heights above, or the depths below,
this is one remarkable
place. Fortunately for its continued existence, it’s also remarkably
easy to overlook.
In October I attended my first Taiwanese boat
burning in Dong Gang,
Pingtung County. I had promised Highway 11 a
spectacular photo essay about the tri-annual folk ceremony. I
almost
completely screwed it up.
Music has always been a passion for me. As a
child, I would sit on the floor in front of my old turntable for hours,
and lose myself in music.
